  • Bolt Action: German Heer 8.8cm Flak 37 (Winter)

Originally developed as an anti-aircraft weapon, the infamous ‘eighty-eight’ or ‘88’, as it became known by Allied troops, had a high muzzle velocity, allowing it to reach the higher ranges bombers were capable of. This feature also made it an exceptionally deadly anti-tank weapon, as many Allied tank crews learned to their peril. As such, the 88 was also deployed as a conventional artillery piece. As one infantryman noted, the 88 was “anti-everything”...

The 88 saw service on all fronts in which the Germans fought during WWII. Capable of penetrating armour plate up to 108mm thick at ranges of up to 1,100 yards, the 88’s fearsome reputation grew immensely during its service in the Western Desert where it was one of the very few weapons capable of dealing with the British Matilda II infantry tanks. A similar scenario unfolded on the Eastern Front as the 88 was among the rare weapons able to tackle the Soviet T-34 and KV tanks.

Contains one plastic Flak 37, seven metal German Heer (Winter) crew figures, MDF base and game accessories.

    Models supplied unassembled and unpainted

  • Bolt Action: Panzer Lehr Squad

The Panzer Lehr Division (armoured training division) was built in 1943 from the veterans of the North Africa, Sicily and Italy campaigns. These highly experienced troops formed the core of this training and demonstration unit and as such was considered an elite formation from its inception.

In 1944, the Panzer Lehr Division took part in the invasion of Hungary before moving to France to await the Allied invasion of Europe. Unlike other panzer divisions of the German wehrmacht, all the panzergrenadiers of the Panzer Lehr were mounted on half-tracks, making it the only fully mechanised unit in the German army. In addition, they were the first to fight alongside the new Tiger II tanks. They also wore a distinctive double-breasted assault gun-style jacket instead of the normal Heer field blouse.

Contains 10 metal Panzer Lehr squad models and plastic base

  • Fallschirmjäger (Winter) Starter Army

Clad in their thick winter gear, ready to fight the Allies in the snowy forests of the Ardennes, these die-hard German paratroopers are a force to be reckoned with!

This starter army gives you everything you need to field a battle-ready force of Fallschirmjäger in winter equipment for games of Bolt Action. At its core is a strong Rifle Platoon with three full squads of paratroopers, backed up by Sniper and Panzerschreck teams – this flexible formation is capable of taking and holding objectives, and is the heart of any Bolt Action force.

Backing up the Rifle Platoon is a trio of powerful supporting formations. The Heavy Weapons Platoon provides both direct fire in the form of a brace of Medium Machine Guns, and high-explosive death from on high with its Medium Mortar, while the small but powerful Artillery Platoon gives the force some serious anti-tank punch from the PaK 40 anti-tank gun!

Rounding out the force is the Armoured Platoon, bringing both wheels and tracks to the battlefield. The Sd.Kfz 223 command armoured car has excellent mobility, and leads the way for the mighty StuG III G assault gun, equally capable of blasting enemy infantry and vehicles.

With these four platoons, you get a great core force that can be used on the tabletop right away, and serve as the basis for a large and versatile collection. • Winter Fallschirmjäger Pak 40

    Deploy powerful anti-tank firepower today!

The PaK 40 was Germany's primary anti-tank gun throughout most of the war, with over 20,000 being produced. Capable of reliably knocking out virtually every Allied tank it faced, it was a well-liked weapon, much feared by Allied tankers. Fallschirmjäger formations made good use of the gun, which proved particularly effective when fired from concealed ambush positions during the Battle of the Bulge.

A PaK 40 is a great addition to any Artillery Platoon in a Bolt Action Fallschirmjäger force. As a Heavy Anti-Tank Gun it's able to deal with any armour your opponent might bring, and its powerful HE shell can also blast infantry apart!

A Heavy AT Gun will need a tow - the PaK 40 is best paired with an Sd.Kfz 7 half-track or a good old-fashioned horse limber!

Get ready to hunt some tanks!
