Vallejo Model Color Metal Medium (Refractor or Interference Medium) produces an iridescent lustre caused by mica platelets coated with titanium dioxide which interfere with the reflection of light. When mixed with Model Color or Model Air, at 50 per cent of volume, it lightens the colour and gives them an iridescent shimmer. When used as final varnish it produces a silky effect. Mixed with other metal acrylics such as Model Color Gold, Silver, Bronze and so on it reduces colour intensity without diminishing the metallic shine. To delay the drying time of Model Color paint, mix a few drops of Vallejo Model Color Drying Retarder with the colour or dip your brush into the retarder on the palette. It heightens the flexibility of the colours and their adhesion to the surface and is the perfect medium for glazes. It does not yellow or change tonality of the colour and it can also be used as a binder for dry pigment.
Liquid Mask is used to reserve areas which are to remain unpainted, especially in airbrush techniques. The product forms a protective film on the area which the artists does not want to paint. Once the work is dry, liquid mask is rubbed off revealing the unpainted area. Use with brush. Shake lightly and test on surface before use. Do not leave applied for a long time. To remove, peel or rub carefully once dry. Keep from freezing.

A selection of water-based acrylic products designed to create rivers, lakes, canals, inlets, oceans and glaciers in models and dioramas. The products can be shaped to create waterfalls, waves, ripples and ice and can be mixed with one another, or with the colors of Model Color, Game Color or Model Air. They are applied with a brush, a painting knife, sponge or any other tool. Drying time depends on the thickness of the applied product and the humidity of the atmosphere, and can vary from 45 minutes to hours or even days. Premium is a range of acrylic colors specifically designed for airbrushing and for optimum adherence on surfaces such as fiberglass, polyethylene, polycarbonate, metal and Lexan. Premium has been formulated with permanent pigments and a new, extremely resistant hybrid resin of acrylic-polyurethane. The Premium range contains matt and opaque, transparent, metallic, and fluorescent colors, and includes the specific varnishes and auxiliary products of the product line. Premium is especially recommended for painting motorcycle helmets, fuel tanks, surfboards and similar surfaces exposed to hard wear, and resists impacts and cracking as well as direct exposure to heat. The Premium colors resist fuel residue proof (as used in RC) ofup to at least 35% Nitro. It is recommended to apply Premium in successive layers on previously primed surfaces. A few hours after application, the Premium colors will form a homogenous film of extraordinary strength and resistance. The recommended compressor settings are around 15-20 PSI, o 0.5 to 1 kg. For a final, especially resistant protection, a final (2K) urethane varnish is recommended (applied by aerosol or airbrush). Painting tools can be cleaned with water.
