The Chinese Federation floating fortresses are a wondrous sight to behold - sprawling castles bedecked in oriental decoration held high above the earth or waves on thrumming repulsion engines. All are also fitted with the innovative Jiu Long Bi generator, creating a long wall of energy that stretches from bastion to bastion and shields the fleet behind from danger. The mighty Zhanmadao Dreadnought is the pinnacle of this design. Both an engineering marvel and a terrifying foe, this gargantuan vessel skims above the waves hurling flame from its banks of dragon mouthed cannon. The enigmatic Dystopian Wars Covenant of Antarctica is the world’s youngest and most unorthodox nation. Officially established in 1857 by its founder, the eccentric Britannian scientist-aristocrat Lord Barnabas Draynes Sturgeon, the Covenant has caused seismic shifts in global politics and scientific advancement in the few short years of its existence. The Covenant’s military forces are small, but thanks to their extraordinary grasp of technology, they command offensive power out of all proportion to their numbers. The divisions of their military, known as War Fleets, contain land, naval and air elements which work in concert like a well-oiled machine. There are currently thought to be some fifteen War Fleets in operational state, although several more are thought to be maintained as reserves. Antarctican war machines are not radically different in function to any other nations’. Their differences lie in their quality. With superior materials technology and artificial crewmen, they are simply capable of operating at a much greater degree of efficiency than the equivalent machineries of other nations.

Lord Leonidas, Chief of Physics for the Dystopian War's Covenant of Antarctica, made an exciting discovery deep inside Wells Chasm during one of the mining operations intended to open up blocked corridors. In a room that was clearly scientific in nature, Leonidas discovered a vitriolic fluid that, when agitated with a powerful charge of energy, could literally impact time and, when the charge is powerful enough, also transport (teleport) objects. The device was named Callimachus, after the favourite Greek poet of Leonidas, and fitted into a modular mobile unit. Whilst the Orb has no offensive design (although military upgrades are under development), the disruption it can cause on a battlefield is what makes it popular with Covenant of Antarctica commanders.

The Diogenes Frigate is one of the fastest ships on the ocean, able to skim underwater just below the waves to reach its destination, often before an opposing commander is aware of its approach. Their upper hull design is rounded, giving a low silhouette and making it harder to directly hit. The Diogenes does lack a fore turret, but its broadsides are comparable with any ship in its class and the fore torpedoes have the potential to dent any ship with limited concussion charges.

It is amazing how much firepower can be packed into what is a relatively small ship, but the Pytheus Class Small Flyer really does deal an unforgiving punch to enemy targets. When these nimble craft are unleashed, the Covenant know that victory is soon to follow.

The Socrates is a brutal piece of mobile artillery. A unique propulsion system makes the model highly manoeuvrable, capable of even operating in shallow water. No CoA commander should be without one, or maybe more.

The Thales is a continuation of the design presented by the Diogenes Frigate, a ship built with aesthetics more than practicality in mind. This Corvette is, however, a welcome addition to the still-fledgling Covenant of Antarctica fleets, operating in the waters surrounding Antarctica in a mixed scouting and combat role.

The unmanned drones of the Covenant of Antarctica provide excellent aerial support, be it as fighters, bombers or recon units. Although lacking in standard Tiny Flyer MARs, these drones have the advantage of being able to ditch when low on fuel, allowing their controlling Pericles Class Fleet Carrier to re-launch more, of any type, quickly into the fray.

The Komainu Class Garrison Tank is hardy enough to safely deliver its cargo, fast enough to get them where they need to be at a moment's notice and able to hold hundreds of soldiers within its confines, despite its modest size. The Komainu can even lay down a steady barrage of incendiary rockets as it advances, and fire enough to ward off any enemy seeking to pick off the transports before they can deliver their valuable cargo.

A much smaller and more agile frame than the bulky O-I 'Taka-Ashi', but still exceptionally resilient, the MK II version of the Ronin Class Heavy Walker is able to deliver devastating close range firepower from its gun turret. The Mk I variant foregoes this heavy turret in favour of a huge complement of Rocket Corps Assault Samurai and a Cloud Generator to keep the Walker shrouded from enemy fire.

The forces of the Dystopian Wars Prussian Empire are celebrated for their devastating boarding actions. This tactic has now become even easier for Prussian ground Commanders to achieve with the 'A2-L Ritter', a dedicated boarding tank. Ritter Squadrons take up position deep within the Prussian formation where they can avoid enemy gunfire. Then, when the advance is close enough they hurtle out from the lines to swamp a vulnerable target - even able to capture a reeling Land Ship if they pick their moment well.

Large Squadrons of Bansan Class Small Walkers are frightening opponents, both at close quarters and long range. The rotary rocket launcher operates like a huge Catherine wheel, with the blast of each rocket pushing the next tube into its firing position. It fires very rapidly, providing agile and powerful fire support for other units on the attack. It also functions as a highly effective mobile emplacement when a force using the walkers is on the defensive.
The Kagoshima Class Mobile Airfield is, according to its creator Koichiro Nakayama, a “symbolic representation of the Empire of the Blazing Sun’s majestic power and might”. To most other people it is a humoungous representation of what you can do with tens of thousands of tons of Sturgin¬ium enhanced metal! At 608 feet long, 280 feet tall and 288 feet wide this is an amazing feat of engineering. Only the elite, the truly gifted pilots of the Empire are allowed to serve on a Kagoshima. This is, in part, because of its privileged status in the Empire’s military, but also because take offs and landings are not a trivial matter.

The Blazing Sun’s mighty heavy walkers operate in areas that would defeat conventional Land Ships. The ‘Miage-Nyudo’ variant, which has been issued in particular to army units serving in the confined island and jungle-covered warzones of South East Asia, is a highly effective command unit. The machine elevates senior commanders and artillery spotters far above ground-based obstructions, no matter how harsh the terrain. Its central tower is studded with dozens of rocket tubes, capable of plastering enemy forces with salvoes of fiery devastation.
If your aerial units have been clever (some would say lucky) enough to outmanoeuvre the squadrons of fighters and avoid obliteration by the torrent of rockets launching from any supporting Inari Class Scout Gyros, you’d better be praying you don’t wander within range of the Tsukuyomi Class War Gyro. This guardian of the skies keeps a watchful eye over its fellow aerial companions with some brutal firepower. Its main turrets are specifically designed to track and destroy anything unlucky enough to assume the sky is big enough to share.

The FSA initially scrapped their plans for such a small fighting ship, as it was decided that the resources required to produce a steam vessel with such an undersized presence amongst a fleet could be better spent elsewhere. However, after reviewing a design by the relatively unknown engineer Edmund Collerton III, the idea of a vessel that could be built quickly and cheaply and without the need for a dockyard prompted the FSA military to give the vessel the go-ahead.

The Tennessee Class Land Ship is an outgrowth of both the older Washington Class and the Trenton Medium Tank, utilising the same huge central track arrangement for motive power. Although lacking the Washington's amphibious capability and heavy firepower, the Tennessee design instead incorporates far greater versatility. Although still packing the punch of a twin-barrelled Orlington piston-turret for its primary armament, the Land Ship is built with the ability to mount a substantial array of Generators in mind..
The Dystopian Wars Washington Class Land Ship is one of very few aquatic tanks having been developed by the Federated States to support amphibious landings. Its dual use and potent firepower make it a dangerous asset on the battlefield, while the high profile of its headquarters makes it a rallying point on the battlefield.

The Kingdom of Britannia Fleet Carrier is built upon the hulls of two Battleships, and was an ambitious proposition when its schematics were presented before the Admiralty. It has smaller turrets to the port and starboard, but with the same powerful torpedo capability of a Battleship, which in the front arc is combined into one large, devastating battery of torpedoes. This Carrier is more than capable of fighting off the attacks of weaker ships, and in combination with its complement of Aeroplanes has the potential to cause serious problems for isolated ships in the same size class.

The Korsor Class Minelayer has proved an invaluable fighting machine since the outbreak of the war.
