  • Adeptus Astartes Thunderhawk Gunship

Designed to operate in both planetary atmosphere and the cold void of space, the Thunderhawk Gunship combines the roles of orbital troop lander, heavy gunship, and bomber into a single, brutally effective aircraft. Sturdy and well-armoured, Thunderhawks deliver their Adeptus Astartes passengers into the very heart of raging battle, and provide fire support with a truly fearsome array of weapons afterwards. These iconic vessels have come to be feared as the harbinger of doom by the enemies of the Imperium of Mankind.

This legendary aircraft is armed with the most powerful suite of weapons seen so far in Aeronautica Imperialis, bar none. The main cannon, a mighty turbo laser destructor, is capable of striking all but the heaviest aircraft from the skies in one shot, but of course that’s just the beginning. Every firing arc is covered by lascannons or heavy bolters to fend off interceptors or go on the attack, and the wings can be loaded with a massive payload of bombs for taking out ground targets in stride. With a generous transport capacity and enough structure points to keep it in the air for an entire battle, this is a game-winning aircraft, and vital to mission success for Adeptus Astartes squadrons. When well supported, Thunderhawk Gunships win wars.

  • Adeptus Astartes: Xiphon Interceptor Squadron

Harder to take down than most fighters, and packing some serious firepower in the form of four lascannons and a missile array, Xiphon Interceptors will scythe through even the staunchest opposition. The frag missiles can be traded out for krak missiles to pound ground targets and with hunter-killer missiles for dogfighting supremacy. A squadron of these aircraft is more than a match for most foes, and this box gives you a whopping six of them with which to bolster your fleet.

  • Aeronautica Imperialis: Outer Reaches

Environments that aren't well suited for ground wars are often contested by air fleets. Barren or remote outposts and dangerous mining or research facilities offer strategic value, and the most efficient way to secure them (or pound them into dust) is by unleashing squadrons of aircraft.

This Outer Reaches Area of Engagement is a fold-out game board for Aeronautica Imperialis that represents two different locations over which your air fleets can come to grips. Measuring 19 hexes by 18 hexes (or roughly 3’ by 3’), this game board gives you a huge area over which to fight your battles.

The double-sided game board comes in two pieces and features artwork depicting the following aerial war zones:

    – Side 1: an Imperial Outpost depicts a remote colony on one of the countless worlds claimed by the Imperium, including the research facilities, settlements, and refuelling stations established on these distant planets.

    – Side 2: a Lava World shows that no planet is inhospitable enough for the Imperium. This map depicts an Imperial settlement surrounded by burning lava – and these dangerous lands make air combat a crucial component of fighting for control of these planets.

You'll need a copy of the Taros Air War or Rynn's World Campaign book, or Aeronautica Imperialis: Wrath of Angels, Skies of Fire, or Wings of Vengeance boxed games to use this game board.

  • Asuryani Nightwing Squadron

The primary aircraft employed by the enigmatic xenos known as Craftworld Aeldari, Nightwing fighters possesses a level of speed and manoeuvrability that appears preternatural. In battle, squadrons of Nightwings weave around enemy aircraft, tearing their foe apart with bursts of fire from shuriken cannons and bright lances.

The Asuryani air fleet is full of intensely fast, hard-hitting yet fragile aircraft. Nightwings are all of these, with the speed and maneuverability to stay out of the line of fire and set up an ideal tailing position before unleashing devastating firepower. At close range, their shuriken cannon makes quick work of most targets, while additional weapons tailor them to a variety of roles. Twin bright lances extend their effective range, twin scatter lasers add even more short-range shredding punch, twin missile launchers allow them to punish ground assets, and twin starcannons are ideal for picking off targets of opportunity or finishing off damaged aircraft. With six of these sleek fighters in the box, you can prepare for any opponent.

    The set includes:

    - 6 plastic Asuryani Nightwing miniatures

  • Asuryani Phoenix Bomber Squadron

Each Phoenix Bomber is a heavily armed strike craft utilised by the Craftworld Aeldari, carrying a payload tailored towards ground attack missions. Despite these modifications, they remain fast, nimble aircraft. Capable of engaging both air and ground forces, the Phoenix Bomber is an integral tool in the Asuryani air war.

While most bombers are large, tough, and a bit lumbering, the Phoenix Bomber is anything but. With the same structural integrity as a typical fighter, it relies on speed and maneuverability to get out of tight spots, while the customisable payload allows it to excel in a wide variety of missions. The missile array can be exchanged for specialised plasma and krak missiles to target aerial and ground targets, respectively, and they can be fitted with twin bright lances, twin starcannons, or twin pulse lasers on top of their standard shuriken cannon and bomb rack armaments. A savvy Asuryani commander will find a juicy target for them more often than not, making each one count in a protracted firefight.

    The set includes:

    - 3 multipart plastic Asuryani Phoenix Bombers miniatures
    - 3 twin bright lances, 3 twin starcannons, 3 twin pulse lasers, 3 standard missile arrays, and 3 missile arrays to represent either nightfire plasma or nightfire krak missiles.

  • Fire Raptor Squad

The Fire Raptor is a variant of the Storm Eagle, sacrificing transport capacity for a reinforced airframe and increased weapons payload to create a resilient dedicated gunship. Each Fire Raptor is capable of unleashing a devastating rain of Avenger Bolter rounds and missiles. The versatile side turrets can be fitted with lascannons or autocannons as mission parameters demand.

The Fire Raptor excels at pounding ground targets with hellstrike missiles or performing strafing runs with the avenger bolt cannon. As an interceptor, Fire Raptors are utterly deadly at mid range, while the side turrets take on targets of opportunity and keep agile enemies from outflanking them. The heavy bolters in the turrets shred opponents at close range, while autocannons operate best at mid range, and lascannons offer accurate fire to soften up tough targets or pick off wounded ones.

    The set includes:

    - 2 multipart plastic Adeptus Astartes Fire Raptor miniatures

  • Imperial Navy Avenger Strike Fighters

Named for the Avenger bolt cannons they bear, these fighters are often employed on strafing runs, raking armoured columns and bunkers on their weak side, rear, and top armour with mass-reactive bolt shells. With the ability to add missiles, bombs, lascannons, and autocannons, they can be geared up for a variety of mission objectives. When combined with the other fighters in the Imperial Navy, the Avenger Strike Fighter can bring tremendous amounts of firepower to both ground and air assaults.

Imperial Navy players are spoiled for choice when it comes to small, vicious dogfighters. Add Avenger Strike Fighters to the mix for some massive firepower, protected by a tail gunner – rare on such a small craft. Their mix of weapons allows you to make them a dedicated ground-attack craft, or a slugger to tail and take out slow-moving bombers. If you want to mix up the look of your squadron, these utilitarian craft look like nothing else in your forces, with their down-swept wings, exposed engines and wide tails.

    - 8 autocannons, 8 lascannons, 8 Hellstrike missiles, 8 Skystrike missiles

Lightning Strike Fighters are best suited for dealing with swarms of light aircraft, while Lighting Fighters are ideal for tailing ponderous bombers and heavy fighters. • Ork Air Waaagh! Grot Bommers

The diminutive Gretchin have long been enthusiastic supporters of Ork aviation, whether gleefully pushing bombs out of open bays, crawling into tight spots to fix engines, or acting as spotters and even gunners on ork planes. It doesn't take long before they become obsessed with flying just like their bigger kin, begging for their own turn on the control stick.

Some enterprising Ork meks decided this arrangement could be mutually beneficial, and created guided missiles that could be flown like a tiny, gretchin-sized airplane. Fitted with a short-burn rocket engine and stuffed with unstable explosives, some rabid grots are happy to climb aboard just for the (short-lived) thrill of speed and freedom. They're loaded into the wings of specially-fitted Grot Bommers, and launched in support of the Air Waaagh!

Grot Bommers open new tactical options for Ork Air Waaagh! players, and their autonomous bombs are unique in the Ork fleet. While wonderfully wacky, they're also incredibly potent weapons that your opponents will quickly come to fear. Complementing Eavy Bommers and the rest of your fleet, you’ll find them useful in all sorts of missions, bristling with dakka even after they've delivered their deadly payload.

This multipart plastic kit builds 2 Grot Bommers, with 2 wing-mounted grot bombs, plus 4 free-flying Grot Bombs. This kit includes 2 Aeronautica Imperialis bases with ball socket stems, 4 small flying bases with long flying stems, and a sheet of Ork Bommer transfers.

  • T'au Air Caste Barracuda Fighters

The T’au Air Caste utilises Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers in a support role, raking ground targets with punishing strafing runs. Larger than the Barracudas and packing twice the firepower, woe betide the enemy aircraft that finds itself in target lock with these bruisers. Their transport capacity also allows them to secure ground targets after the smoke clears.

This box lets you build two Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers. The standard AX-1-0-2 is armed with not one, but two Swiftstrike railguns, while the AX-1-0-3 variant trades them out for two Swiftstrike burst cannons and the AX-1-0-4 with paired ion cannons. All of them are armed with missile pods built into their wings, and they include drone ports to add close or mid-range support with cyclic ion blasters and long-barreled burst cannons. Add a Seeker missile bay to take out crucial targets.

    The set includes:

    - 2 plastic T’au Air Caste Tiger Shark AX-1-0-2 miniatures (can also be built as AX-1-0-3 and AX-1-0-4 variants)
    - 2 Aeronautica Imperialis bases (each base designates the model’s front, rear and side arcs, has speed and altitude dials, as well as a clear stand to connect the aircraft to the base)
    - 1 T’au Aircraft transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

  • T'au Air Caste Tiger Shark AX 1-0 Fighter-Bombers

Tiger Shark Fighter-bombers are tremendously versatile – essentially a modular flying platform capable of delivering a wide range of weapons to the right place, at the right time. The Tiger Shark AX-1-0 is similar to the other aircraft in the same class, but geared towards taking out the heaviest armour and war machines with an immense pair of heavy rail cannons.

First seen in the skies above Taros, these deadly long-range assassins came to be rightly feared by the Imperium's war engine crews. In some cases, they're armed instead with paired heavy plasma accelerators to unleash deadly fusillades of hot death at close range.

This box lets you build two deadly Tiger Shark AX-1-0 bombers. The primary armament of the AX-1-0 is a pair of heavy rail cannons, which can be traded out for heavy plasma accelerators. The AX-1-0 eschews transport capacity to mount these heavy weapons, prioritising combat effectiveness over versatility. Both variants are armed with missile pods built into their wings, and they include drone ports to add close- or mid-range support with cyclic ion blasters and long-barreled burst cannons.

Whilst ostensibly geared for ground targets, their weapons are no less effective against other aircraft – the long-range heavy rail cannons are quite capable of lancing all but the very toughest high-priority targets out of the skies. The heavy plasma accelerators spew a punishing volley of hot death at close range – as deadly in a strafing run as in a dogfight.

    The set includes:

    - 2 plastic T’au Air Caste Tiger Shark AX-1-0 miniatures, armed with either paired heavy rail cannons or paired heavy plasma accelerators
    - 2 Aeronautica Imperialis bases, designating the model’s front, rear and side arcs as well as speed and altitude dials, and including a clear stand to connect the aircraft to each base
    - 1 T’au Tiger Shark AX-1-0 transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

  • T'au Air Caste Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers

Versatile Barracuda Fighters are the backbone of the T’au Air Caste. Their skilled pilots and sophisticated technology allow them to seize control of the skies with a versatile array of main weapons and support systems for every enemy and occasion.

Build six Barracudas with this box, armed with Swiftstrike railguns, burst cannons, ion cannons and missile pods. Add drones for all-around protection and extra firepower, plus Seeker missiles to pack an even harder punch. No matter how you kit them out, their impressive agility will help you achieve target locks while keeping them out of the line of the heaviest fire.

    The set includes:

    - 6 plastic T’au Air Caste Barracuda AX-5-2 miniatures (can also be built as AX-5-3 and AX-5-4 variants)

  • Taros Air War Campaign Book

Taros was an unassuming mining world nestled in the Ultima Segmentum, faithfully toiling in the service of the Imperium of Man for thousands of years… or so it seemed. The T’au Empire quietly began trading with the planetary governor – when this treachery was discovered, the Imperium’s response was relentless and brutal.

  • Valkyrie Assault Carriers

Typically seconded to the Astra Militarum, Valkyrie Assault Carriers deliver troops directly to the front, hovering in place to provide fire support, before blasting off to take on enemy aircraft. Versatile weapon hard points allow them to be kitted out to take on a wide range of ground targets and aircraft.

This box allows you to build Valkyrie Assault Carriers armed with a lascannon or multi-laser, and Vendetta Assault Carriers armed with twin lascannons. Both of them can be loaded up with additional lascannons and rocket pods. The ability to hover, plus transport troops, makes them perfectly suited for scenarios in which you pick up or drop off soldiers, as well as engaging ground targets with strafing runs.
