    Every Blood Angel felt their hopes dashed when the first of the Primaris Space Marines brought to the Chapter by Roboute Guilliman fell to the Black Rage. With great solemnity were these brothers inducted into the Death Company. However, once unleashed on the battlefield, their strength, combined with the fury of the Black Rage, is a terrifying sight to behold.

    This multipart plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble a set of five Blood Angels Death Company Intercessors.   • Aeternus Continuum - Heavy Warjack Nemesis A

    Flying over the battlefield like bloated, black-steel insects bristling with malefic firepower, the Aeternus Continuum’s Nemesis warjacks are a terrifying sight to behold.     The forces of the ruthlessly expansionistic Iron Star Alliance persistently push into the territorial holdings of their rivals. As new worlds and systems are conquered, the Alliance appoints governors and justicars to bring the conquered into alignment with the dictates of the Septarchs and the Supreme Concordiat. While the governors rule these new territories, it falls upon the justicars to bring them to heel. Judge, jury, and executioner over the territories they are appointed to civilize, the justicars and the Paladin forces they command represent the judicial authority of the Alliance. Few are as effective as Justicar Voss. Young for an appointment of such gravitas, Voss is arrogant and ambitious to a fault, but few who have seen the sword-theurge in battle can blame the Septarchs for their faith in his capabilities.

    Drawn from amongst the greatest marksmen of the Marcher Worlds, the Hunters are the scout-snipers of the Ranger forces. With deadly and withering accuracy, they take apart any enemy unfortunate enough to enter their sights. Each round fired from a Hunter’s high-powered sniper rifle can be further supercharged with Arc, enabling it to tear through the most heavily armored of targets. Furthermore, the Hunters are trained to move with every shot, making them all but impossible to pin down. Their mimetic cloaks serve to further obfuscate the snipers by generating active camouflage that can render them all but invisible in plain sight.

Their duties include repairs, patching wounds, and administering combat alchemicals to boost the effectiveness of the forces they serve alongside. In a pinch, their anatomical knowledge and sharp blades can be paired to destructive ends.
     
    The Grafter can Repair warjacks. While charged, the Grafter’s Adrenalizer grants nearby warrior models +1 ARM and immunity to continuous effects. The Grafter can spike to use its Resurrection Protocol special rule, enabling it to return up to two destroyed trooper models to their squad.

    Endowed with extreme mechanikal reconfigurations, the Marauders are living weapons in the service of the Aeternus Continuum. Little remains of the Marauders’ living flesh and bone, having traded the frailty of the human form for a body of steel, servos, and blazing firepower. A rank above the Vassals, the Marauders are utilized as temple guardians and provide fire support to Continuum forces in battle. Nearly unstoppable, these heavily armored brutes never tire while charged with Arc.
     
    With ARM 4 and Health 3, Marauders are among the hardiest solos in the game. The Marauder can attack with both its melee and ranged weapons during the same activation. The Marauder’s Shredder minigun has the Strafe special rule, enabling it to hit multiple targets with each attack. When the Marauder hits a warjack with its Claw, it can spike to cause the warjack to suffer the system failure continuous effect. If the Marauder is charged at the start of your turn, you can remove an activation token from it, ensuring that you are never short on solos to activate.

    Sent to bolster their beleaguered Italian allies facing the combined forces of the British Commonwealth in North Africa, the Deutsches Afrika Korps proved a dangerous opponent. Commanded by the legendary Erwin Rommel, the Afrika Korps fought a series of ferocious battles in Egypt and Libya as each side pushed the other to breaking point.
     
    Fighting in what was referred to as the last 'Gentleman's War', the German soldier was well respected by those he faced, be they British, Australian, Indian or other nationalities. German tactics in the desert had a profound and deadly effect on how the British armour and infantry formations interacted with one another and these lessons were learnt for the later conflicts in North West Europe.
     
    The Afrika Korps foot troops were more than ably supported by the dreaded '88' (8.8cm Flak) gun as a direct fire weapon and the ubiquitous Panzer IV was developed into what the British troops referred to as the 'Pz IV special' - a tank the British tank commanders learnt to fear and respect in equal measure. Battles at El Alamein, Tobruk and Gazala honed their fighting capability, pushing the British High Command into changes that would bring eventual victory in the desert campaign.

    28S-DMH-A09 is a ‘28S’ 4Ground model kit, ‘28S’ means it is highly detailed with many pre-painted parts designed for use with Dead Man's Hand.

    WESTERN FIVE RAILED CORRAL FENCING

    Five Railed Corral Fencing was very different to other fencing, it was much higher than most fences (though you could get seven and even nine railed) and much stronger than almost all other fencing (boarded Corral Fences/Walls were the strongest). The most obvious distinction with corral fencing was that the rails were always on the stock side, so the press of horses or cattle inside the corral would not easily ‘pop the rails’ enabling livestock to break through. Horse corrals were more than a place for breaking (teaching) young stock and mustangs to become mounts. Though corrals were often found outback of Livery Stables and alike, these corrals were usually not there for breaking horses; more often they where places in town to securely keep horses day and night. Corrals were also often used for cattle, every ranch had at least one corral, most smallholdings would also have one. To sell their livestock, Cowboys would drive their head (herd) of cattle to the train yard corral, there to be sold and loaded on to cattle freight box wagons and sent to yet another corral, though this one was outside an industrial abattoir (the growing an processing of beef was bigger than all other industries on the prairies of they Old West). A head of cattle on route to the railway yard corral was known as a ‘Load’ and those that would steel, and sell them on without having paid for the load themselves were known as ‘freeloaders’. In the dead of night, corrals kept cattle safer from ‘Freeloading Rustlers’ (rustling was making a noise to get cattle to stampede so you could steel them), as cattle in a corral had no way to run off and stampede.

  • Cruel Seas Soviet Navy Fleet

    Description Voyenno-morskoy flot SSSR (VMF) – i.e. The Military Maritime Fleet of the USSR, or the ‘Red Fleet’ for short. The Russian Armed forces of WWII are an interesting blend of extraordinary innovation and technical achievement, and extraordinary inexperience and foolish management of its huge forces. Russia had plenty of small ships and boats for both offensive and defensive purposes. These small ships and boats came in many shapes and sizes. A common class, over 350 being put into service, was the MO small guard ship. It stood for Maly Okhotnik, or “small hunter” and gained the nickname Moshkaor “fly”. These useful vessels were primarily built for anti-submarine work, but soon extra roles were found for them: minelaying and sweeping, convoy, patrol and even supporting ground operations. Captured craft and lend-lease British and American MTBs were used in their light flotillas. Their home-grown efforts, however, produced the peculiar looking G-5 light torpedo boats. The G-5s main strike weapon was two torpedoes, stern launched, which was rare in WWII. They were dropped tail first into the water, so a sharp turn was necessary on launch to get out of the way. Unlike most other nations, the boats carried no cannon but were armed with one 12.7mm machine gun and normally two 7.62mm MMGs. Soviet Navy Fleet The Soviet Navy then is not a glamorous fleet for the gamer. Rather it’s a solid, unsophisticated affair, with no radar, little radio, few automatic cannons or other refinements. As ever with Russian forces, quantity has a quality all its own. Your best tactic is to get in quick, torpedo your target and escape fast as you are likely to take much damage from concentrated cannon fire. Use the MO boats to support you, use minefields to hide in, and if desperate, use the threat of your terrifying if inaccurate Katyusha rocket! URRAH!   • Egyptian Archers Warlord Hail Ceasar

    Archers were an important part of the Egyptian army, if not the most important part of all. The powerful composite bow, made from laminated strips of wood, was probably introduced by the Hyksos invaders prior to the New Kingdom, and was certainly in use by Egyptian troops from the time of Akhenaten (the Amarna period as it is often known). It was a very effective weapon that was said to be capable of shooting an arrow able to pierce a copper sheet three fingers thick.

    Troops such as these fought in the campaigns of Ramesses II against the Hittites and their Canaanite allies, when the pharaoh engaged the Hittite King Muwatallis II in battle at Kadesh in 1274 BC. On that occasion they probably had little opportunity to use their deadly weapons, suddenly finding themselves ambushed by Hittite chariots emerging from concealed positions as they marched towards the Canaanite city.

    These archers wear a form of laminated banded armour, probably made from stiffened cloth, and a frontal flap that covers the groin – probably also made from reinforced fabric. Their characteristic cloth headgear could be a form of padded armour, or plaited headdress, or it might be a simple cloth covering a helmet. In any case it afforded some protection for troops in the thick of battle.

    The Rules

    Each of these gives you, the player, massive flexibility and choice in the way games are played – they’re designed to make you and your friends masters of your own gaming tables. The different rules have massive scope for overlap; for example if you want to use the multiplayer rules for a tournament, or Matched Play rules for a narrative campaign, you’re totally free to do so.

    Open Play

    This is the best introduction to Warhammer Age of Sigmar and the wider world of wargaming in general. Open Play allows you to play unrestricted, even team-based and multiplayer games – all you need is your miniatures, their Warscrolls, the Warhammer Age of Sigmar rules, some dice and a tape measure. The General’s Handbook features different play styles for use with Open Play – Coalition of Death, which allows multiple players to forge alliances with an optional Game Master to watch over the ensuing carnage; Fog of War and Divine Intervention rules; and Triumph & Treachery, an every man for himself melee of 3 or more players with bribes, treacherous acts and secret objectives adding spice to your games. There are 6 different battleplans for each of these.

    Narrative Play

    The stories from the Mortal Realms are an important part of Warhammer Age of Sigmar – your collection of miniatures is made even more special by the rich history and thrilling tales told about them in various publications, making the hobby of collecting them an even more exciting venture. Narrative Play gives you a way to recreate the epic battles that have taken place in the Mortal Realms. The General’s Handbook shows you how to theme an army for Narrative Play, contains advice on where to find the inspirational stories that fuel the games – and how to build your own stories and play exciting games within them. This section of the book contains Time of War rules for playing Narrative battles in each of the Mortal Realms, with wildly differing play styles appropriate to their environments, with 6 battleplans. It also includes Siege Warfare – detailed rules for battles in which one player must assault the other’s stronghold, which introduces the Siege Phase. In this, the attacker can smash against the stronghold, tunnel beneath it or simply starve out their foe, who can gather supplies and counter-attack in turn; 2 battleplans for this are included.

    Matched Play

    Some hobbyists prefer to test their mettle in an equally-matched battle of strategy and wits, in which no advantage is conferred simply by selecting the biggest and baddest miniature in your figure case. Matched Play is the perfect solution – this provides points values for the units available in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar range, allowing you and your opponent to size each other up, decide on a points limit, deploy your armies and go to war on an equal footing. Balanced armies of course mean that there will be gamers itching to prove themselves in tournaments, and the Pitched Battle rules are expressly designed to get armies matched up and onto the table with a minimum of fuss. Does your gaming group have the whole night to play, or is time of the essence? This book has suggestions and recommendations for various sizes of gameplay an epic battle that takes a whole night, skirmish for an hour, or anything in between. Also included are rules for Ladder Campaigns – the General’s Handbook will make setting up and maintaining tournaments easy.
