Manufactured by FIAT's SPA Division, the TL37 was a four wheel drive and steer light truck. The artillery tractor variant - the Trattore TL37 - saw extensive use with the Italian Army as a light transport with the capability to act as a tractor or light prime mover to pull artillery. Plagued early on by technical and supply problems, the manufacturers quickly overcame these issues and established a reliable production rate and solved most of the mechanical complexities and faults, so much so that later versions of this remarkable vehicle performed incredibly well in the early part of World War II, and proved an invaluable asset to the Italians especially during the Africa Campaign.
