The Cannone da 90/53 was designed by Ansaldo and the first examples were produced in 1939. It was used by both the Italians and the Germans in the anti-aircraft role and as an anti tank gun, and it proved the equal of the famous German FlaK36 8.8cm anti-aircraft gun.
