Formed in January 1943 and intended for battle in Africa, 505. Schwere Panzerabteilung was instead sent to the Eastern Front to reinforce Army Group Centre. Here the Tigers proved devastating during the Kursk offensive, as well as defending against Operation Bagration. The Abteilung destroyed everything set against them, racking up over nine hundred tank kills by late 1944. This gaming set features dice and tokens marked with the divisional symbol, a charging knight.
