The 3. SS-Panzerdivision Totenkopf or Deathhead carried the meanest, nastiest reputation in the SS. They earned their initial battle honours during the first winter on the Russian Front. Fighting on, frozen, surrounded and out of supply, the 15,000 man unit was reduced to 2,700 survivors at Demjansk, where eleven Knight's Crosses were awarded. Thrown into the line at Kharkov twice, Kursk, Prokhorovka, Kirvoi-Rog, Siedlce, Warsaw, and Budapest they were feared by all who fought against them. They used the Death's Head symbol on their uniforms and vehicles. This gaming set features dice and tokens marked with this symbol.
