In 1943 a number of conversions of the Morris-Commerical C8 truck were made for specialist roles. Among them was the C8 AT converted to tow the 17 pdr anti-tank gun and the C9/B self-propelled Bofors anti-aircraft gun. The C9/B mounted the 40mm Bofors gun on an elongated C8 chassis. It, and the very similar Canadian built Ford F60B, became the most prolific of all British AA vehicles, becoming the standard equipment in all theatres of war from 1943 onwards.
